- Remove air cleaner resonator.
- Remove Transaxle Control Module (TCM) mounting screws, then move TCM to provide access to top starter mounting bolt. Do not disconnect TCM wiring.
- Remove bolt attaching starter to transaxle housing, then raise and support vehicle.

- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove air cleaner resonator.
- Remove Transaxle Control Module (TCM) mounting screws, then move TCM to provide access to top starter mounting bolt. Do not disconnect TCM wiring.
- Remove bolt attaching starter to transaxle housing, then raise and support vehicle.
- Remove battery cable nut from starter and cable.
- Disconnect push-on solenoid connector.
- Remove top bolt attaching starter to transaxle housing, then starter from vehicle.
- Clean corrosion from wire terminals before connecting wiring to solenoid.
