DRIVELINE, U-JOINT & CV AXLES REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES FOR 2000 Audi TT AUTOMOBILES
Includes CV axle, universal joint, and driveline replacement, for domestic and imported 2000 Audi TT cars and light trucks from 1990+.
DRIVESHAFT, Replace
Vehicle: 2000 Audi TT 1.8 L4 GAS
FRONT
- Remove wheel cover, then drive axle bolt in hub.
- Raise and support vehicle, then remove tires.
- Remove drive axle mounting bolts.
- Remove cable for ABS wheel speed sensor from bracket at brake caliper, then pull ABS wheel speed sensor slightly out of swing arm.
- Remove swing arm to track control arms mounting bolt and push both track control arms up and out, then tilt swing arm away.
- Remove drive axle.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Torque wheel lug nuts to 89 ft. lbs.
- Torque wheel hub nut to 280 ft. lbs.
- Torque drive axle flange bolts to 59 ft. lbs.
