- Disconnect battery ground cable at battery.
- Disconnect mass air flow (MAF) sensor.
- Remove engine cover.
- Remove EVAP canister and move to side with lines connected.
- Rotate tensioner for ribbed belt toward right using a box wrench until both holes are in alignment and lock with a dowel, drill bit or allen wrench.

- Remove air guide by releasing side retainers.
- Unclip lower air guide by releasing left and right retainers.
- Disengage lower air guide at mounts by moving lower air guide slightly to rear.

- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Disconnect electrical connector at Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor.
- Remove engine cover.
- Remove and discard cable tie over protective sleeve.
- Disconnect electrical connector at starter.
- Fold back protective sleeve, remove nut at starter solenoid B+ terminal, and remove connector terminal.
- Remove ground cable from starter.
- Remove upper starter bolt.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Release fasteners and remove center noise insulation.

- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Disconnect electrical connector at Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor.
- Remove engine cover.
- Lift activated charcoal filter (with hoses still connected) out of bracket and set aside.
- If belt is to be reused mark direction of rotation, before removing drive belt. Belt damage will result if not reinstalled in proper direction.
- Relieve drive belt tension by turning tensioner clockwise, using a suitable tool.
