Import Compressor Service -> Bosch Compressor -> SHAFT SEAL, REPLACE -> EXCEPT PORSCHE 928 -> PORSCHE 928

- Remove compressor clutch plate as previously described, then remove the key and circlip.
- Remove thrust washer using tool No. 64-5-030, or equivalent.
- Install tool No. 64-5-040, or equivalent, into compressor. Rotate tool clockwise to free seal, then remove tool.
- Remove seal using a plastic needle.
- Reverse procedure to install. Note the following:
- Apply refrigerant oil to new seal prior to installation.

- Remove upper thermostat housing attaching bolt, then position housing and hoses aside, Fig. .
- Remove thermostat and O-ring assembly.
- Reverse procedure to install. Install thermostat so ball valve is at highest point.
