Parking brake cable must be free of tension during basic setting inspection.
- Push caliper lever against stop on both sides of vehicle using a suitable screwdriver. Parking brake cable is too tight if lever of opposite side caliper is pulled away from stop.
- If required, loosen adjustment nut for parking brake cable until both levers rest against stop.
- Push a suitable screwdriver between end of rear spring and roller.
- Press brake pedal once, then ensure both tires rotate freely.
- Remove screwdriver.

- Loosen flanged bolt, Fig. .
- Remove wheel and pull out wheel speed sensor.
- Fasten brake disc to wheel hub using wheel bolt.
- Remove bolts for brake caliper and tie caliper up to body with wire.
- Remove brake disc.
- Remove cover plate for brake disc by removing bolts.
- Install suitable spring tensioner and spring holder tools onto coil spring.
- Remove pretensioned spring together with spring tensioner.
- Disconnect drive axle from drive flange.
