The electronic control unit is located beneath the lefthand side of the rear seat.
- Turn ignition Off.
- Remove rear seat.
- Remove spring retaining electrical connector, then disconnect electrical connector.
- Remove screws securing control unit.
- Reverse procedure to install.

- Remove lower slot cover from between knee bolster and lower column cover.
- Remove knee bolster.
- Remove ABS control module.
- Disconnect ABS control module electrical harness connector.

This procedure has been revised by a Technical Service Bulletin.
- Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel assemblies.
- If brake pads are to be used again, mark installed positions for installation reference. Inner pads are different from side to side and have a specified direction of rotation.
- Use a suitable screwdriver to pry brake pad retaining spring out of caliper housing, Fig. .
- Remove guide pin caps, then the guide pins.

Hydraulic Booster/Servo
- With ignition Off, depress brake pedal approximately 20 times to reduce system pressure.
- Disconnect warning lamp switch electrical connector, then remove switch.
- Attach pressure gauge with hollow bolt and copper washers to brake servo unit. Attach thick copper washer between brake servo unit and banjo fitting and thin copper washer between hollow bolt and banjo fitting.
- Start engine and let idle until pressure gauge reading exceeds 2030 psi.
- If specified pressure is not reached, measure delivery rate of central hydraulic pump as follows:

Rear Brake Basic Setting, Inspection
Parking brake cable must be free of tension during basic setting inspection.
- Push caliper lever against stop on both sides of vehicle using a suitable screwdriver. Parking brake cable is too tight if lever of opposite side caliper is pulled away from stop.
- If required, loosen adjustment nut for parking brake cable until both levers rest against stop.
- Push a suitable screwdriver between end of rear spring and roller.
- Press brake pedal once, then ensure both tires rotate freely.
- Remove screwdriver.
