Includes CV axle, universal joint, and driveline replacement, for domestic and imported 2005 MERCEDES-BENZ C230 cars and light trucks from 1990+.
CV AXLE SHAFT, Replace
Vehicle: 2005 MERCEDES-BENZ C230 Kompressor 1.8 L4 GAS
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove and discard 12-point collar nut from rear axle shaft.
- Remove wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove fixed brake caliper from rear axle and tie caliper off to side. Do not disconnect brake hose.
- Remove stabilizer bar link rod.
- Remove RPM sensor from wheel carrier
- Remove torque strut from wheel carrier.
- Remove camber strut from wheel carrier.
- Remove tie rod from wheel carrier.
- Remove thrust arm from wheel carrier
- Fold wheel carrier outward and push rear axle shaft out of rear axle shaft flange.

Vehicle: 2005 MERCEDES-BENZ C230 Kompressor 1.8 L4 GAS
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove exhaust system at flange connection.
- Remove exhaust shielding plate.
- Remove bottom part of noise encapsulation.
- Remove rear engine crossmember and rear engine mount.
- Unscrew crossmember at floor shift.
- Detach front reinforcement brace below propeller shaft.
- Loosen bolts of propeller shaft intermediate bearing.
- Disconnect front propeller shaft at transmission. Flexible coupling remains on propeller shaft.
- Detach rear propeller shaft from rear axle center assembly. Flexible coupling remains on propeller shaft.
