- Remove bleeder screw from one front brake caliper.
- Connect gauge set VW 1310 or equivalent, then bleed gauges.
- Install brake pedal depressor, between brake pedal and driver's seat.
- Load brake pedal until gauge reads 725 psi.
- Watch gauge for 45 seconds....

Parking brake cable must be free of tension during basic setting check.
- Using a suitable screwdriver, push caliper lever against stop on both sides of vehicle. Parking brake cable is too tight if lever of opposite side caliper is pulled away from stop.
- If necessary, loosen adjustment nut for parking brake cable until both levers rest against stop.

To bleed brake system, use bottle with a transparent hose attached so that brake fluid can be checked for air bubbles.
- Bleed brakes in following sequence:
- Right rear caliper, left rear caliper, right front caliper, then left front caliper.
- After bleeding, fill reservoir to maximum mark.
