  • Unfasten caliper as previously described, leaving brake hose attached to caliper. Suspend caliper from suspension spring. Do not let caliper hang by hydraulic line.
  • Remove inboard and outboard brake pads from caliper.
  • Remove support spring from inboard pad, noting position of spring for assembly reference.
  • Remove sleeves and rubber bushings from mounting bolt bores in caliper mounting ears.

  • On models equipped with Rear Wheel Anti-Lock brakes (RWAL), connect one end of a suitable hose to bleeder valve on RWAL hydraulic valve and submerge other end in a glass container partially filled with clean brake fluid.

  • Drain and discard 2/3 of brake fluid from master cylinder front reservoir.
  • Raise and support vehicle.
  • Remove front wheel and tire assemblies.
  • Press caliper piston to bottom of bore using suitable screwdriver or C-clamp.
  • Remove caliper mounting bolts.
  • Remove caliper by lifting upward and out of shield and support.
  • Disconnect brake hose at caliper.
