- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove front wheels.
- Disconnect brake hose from caliper. Plug hose to prevent fluid leakage.
- On all except Justy, Legacy and SVX, remove outer parking brake cable clip and disconnect cable.
- On all except Justy with 12 inch wheels, remove caliper lockpin, rotate caliper on guide pin, then remove caliper.
- On Justy with 12 inch wheels, remove caliper to support retaining bolts, then the boot protector and caliper.

- Disconnect brake fluid level indicator connector, if equipped.
- Remove master cylinder assembly.
- Disconnect vacuum hose from brake booster.
- Working from inside the passenger compartment, remove snap pin and operating rod clevis pin from brake pedal assembly.
- Remove brake booster retaining nuts, then brake booster from vehicle.
- Reverse procedure to install. Torque brake booster retaining nuts to 9-17 ft. lbs.

Refer to Fig. when performing the following procedure.
- Remove caliper as outlined under "Caliper, Replace."
- Remove sleeve and the lockpin boot.
- Remove boot ring and piston boot.
- Position a block of wood between piston bore and caliper ears, then remove piston from piston bore by gradually applying compressed air to brake fluid inlet port.
- Remove piston seal. Use caution not to damage inner wall of cylinder.
- Remove guide pin boot from caliper.
- Remove retainer and lever cap, then the retaining spring and spindle.
