- Connect two pressure gauges to proportioning valve, one to the output side and one to the input side, Fig. .
- Bleed system after connecting gauges.
- Depress brake pedal, check that measured values are within specifications as shown in "Specifications".

A few causes for this condition are low fluid level, a hydraulic fluid leak, a hydraulic line is opened, or replacement of a hydraulic system component. Symptoms can be noted by an improper or loss of brake operation, and/or a low or spongy brake pedal.

If dual load sensing valve is damaged, replace as an assembly.
- With one person sitting in drivers seat, set rear axle load to 1544 lbs. by positioning weight in luggage area.
- Install pressure gauge KV991V0010 as shown in Fig. . Then bleed air from front and rear brake lines.
- Apply brakes, bring front brake pressure up to 711 psi. Refer to Fig. for specifications.

- Raise and support rear of vehicle and remove wheel.
- Disconnect parking brake cable and remove spring retainer, if necessary.
- On 240SX and 1990 Stanza models, disconnect parking cable stay fixing bolt and lock spring.
- On all models, remove pin bolts, Figs. through .
- Remove pad springs, pads and pad shims.
- Reverse procedure to install. Turn piston clockwise to retract it into cylinder body.
