Brake pressure regulator is mounted on right rear of body and operated by spring attached to rear axle. Test must be conducted with empty vehicle, full fuel tank and Driver's seat occupied.
- Firmly depress pedal once (vehicle must be on ground).
- Release pedal suddenly and ensure lever on pressure regulator moves.
- Ensure brake system is properly filled and bled.
- Connect gauge assembly tool No. US 1116, or equivalent, to left front and right rear calipers, according to manufacturer's instructions.

- Remove master cylinder as outlined under "Hydraulic Brake System" section.
- Disconnect hydraulic lines from brake servo unit.
- Remove stowage area from under lefthand side dash.
- Disconnect vacuum line from booster/servo.
- Remove brake servo unit attaching bolts.
- Pull back and remove brake lamp switch and cruise control vent valve from brake pedal if equipped.
- Install removal tool No. 3289, then disconnect pushrod from brake pedal.
- Remove brake servo unit
- Reverse procedure to install. Bleed brake system.

Audio Coded Anti-Theft System
Some models are equipped with an audio anti-theft system that will disable the audio unit when battery power is interrupted, unless the system is reset the audio unit will not operate.
It is recommended that the anti-theft system code be obtained before attempting any repair that requires battery disconnect. If a code is unavailable, a "Computer Memory Saver" should be plugged into the cigarette lighter to maintain a constant voltage to the audio unit.

- Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel assemblies.
- If brake pads are to be reused, then mark installed positions for installation reference.
- Secure brake disc on wheel hub with a wheel lug nut.
- Remove outer brake pad mounting bolts, Fig. .
- Extract part of brake fluid from reservoir using a suitable bleeder bottle, then push piston back into caliper housing by inserting a suitable screwdriver into floating frame and pressing firmly to outside.
