- Disconnect battery ground cable and remove radio, if equipped.
- Remove control knobs from control assembly.
- Using a suitable tool, pry control assembly cover and pull toward right side of instrument panel.
- Remove instrument panel insert and control retaining screws.
- Disconnect control cables, electrical connector and vacuum hoses from control assembly as equipped. Mark installation position of cables and hoses to aid installation.
- Remove control assembly together with capillary tube.
- Reverse procedure to install....

- Install support tool No. 3250 or equivalent to upper control arm.
- With car on ground, loosen axle shaft bolts, then remove bolt securing wheel bearing housing to lower ball joint.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove bolt for shock absorber/stabilizer link rod.
- Remove axle shaft from drive flange of transmission.
- Compress shock absorber completely, then remove axle shaft.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Torque wheel lug nuts to 118 ft. lbs.
- Torque axle shaft to flange bolts to 41 ft. lbs.
