- Remove master cylinder as outlined under "Hydraulic Brake System" section.
- Disconnect hydraulic lines from brake servo unit.
- Remove stowage area from under lefthand side dash.
- Disconnect vacuum line from booster/servo.
- Remove brake servo unit attaching bolts.
- Pull back and remove brake lamp switch and cruise control vent valve from brake pedal if equipped.
- Install removal tool No. 3289, then disconnect pushrod from brake pedal.
- Remove brake servo unit
- Reverse procedure to install. Bleed brake system.

Power Brake Units -> Diagnosis & Testing -> Hydraulic Booster/Servo -> Pressure Accumulator Check Valve -> Pressure Accumulator Pressure Relief Valve -> Pressure Accumulator-Gas Pressure -> Vacuum Booster

Hydraulic Booster/Servo
- With engine off, depress brake pedal approximately 20 times to reduce system pressure.
- Disconnect warning light switch electrical connector, then remove switch.
- Attach pressure gauge with hollow bolt and copper washers to brake servo unit. Attach thick copper washer between brake servo unit and banjo fitting and thin copper washer between hollow bolt and banjo fitting.
- Start engine and let idle until pressure gauge reading exceeds 2030 psi.
- If specified pressure is not reached, check delivery rate of central hydraulic pump as follows.

- Check battery for full charge.
- Check that fuses 3, 12 and anti-lock brake power supply relay fuses are satisfactory. The anti-lock brake power supply relay fuse is located on top of the power supply relay.
- Check for continuity between ABS control unit connector terminal 13 and ground, at battery ground cable. Fig. .
- Turn ignition switch to the Off position.
- Check for continuity between ABS control unit connector terminal 10 and ground.
- Check for battery voltage between ABS control unit plug terminals 1 and 10. Approximate battery voltage should be read.

To bleed brake system, use a catch bottle with a transparent hose attached so brake fluid can be checked for air bubbles.

- Extract brake fluid, then disconnect electrical connection for brake level warning system. Remove strainer from reservoir when extracting brake fluid.
- Disconnect brake lines from master cylinder.
- Remove brake fluid reservoir.
- Remove master cylinder to servo attaching bolts.
- Remove master cylinder.
- Reverse procedure to install, then bleed system.
