If a malfunction occurs, the diagnostic system will identify the problem and the ECU will store the codes. At the same time, the system informs the driver of a malfunction with the ABS warning lamp.

Preliminary Inspection

Start engine and drive at a speed of 3-6 mph, then verify that the modulator is operating by listening for motor pump hum and solenoid clicking for one or two seconds. Procedure should be performed within first three minutes after start up. Solenoid valve and motor pump cycling takes place between 3 and 6 mph, as long as brake is not applied.
