- Drain engine coolant from radiator assembly into a suitable container.
- Remove in numbered sequence shown in, Fig. .
- Reverse procedure to install.

- Drain engine coolant into suitable container.
- Remove air cooler air duct, then air cleaner housing assembly.
- Remove resonator.
- Remove thermostat cover, then thermostat.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

- Remove relay from electrical connector. Check continuity with an ohmmeter.
- Continuity should exist between terminals B and D, Fig. . Continuity should not exist between terminals A and C.
- Apply battery voltage between terminals B and D. Continuity should now exist between terminals A and C. If not as specified, replace relay.

- Check continuity between terminals as shown, Fig. .

This reading can be attained at or near sea level only. For each 1000 feet of altitude this operation is performed, the reading will be 1 inch vacuum higher.
