Testing the refrigerant system for leaks is one of the most important phases of troubleshooting. - Remove shaft nut or bolt, Fig. , with aid of spanner wrench.
- Remove pressure plate using pressure plate remover.
- Remove shims from shaft.
- Remove rotor (pulley) retaining snap ring using suitable snap ring pliers.
- Remove rotor (pulley) by gently tapping it with plastic hammer. Some compressors may require a jaw puller.
- Disconnect stator lead wires from compressor housing.
