This procedure must be performed if the BCM, Passlock sensor or PCM is replaced. If BCM is not properly programmed, it will not control all the features properly.
- Ensure battery is fully charged and ignition switch is in the ON position.

- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove wheel and tire assembly.
- Loosen or remove stabilizer shaft link assembly bolt as needed.
- Remove ball joint cotter pin and nut.
- Loosen joint using ball joint separator tool No. J43828 or equivalent. The grease fitting may have to be removed from ball joint for tool access. Do not attempt to free ball stud by using a pickle fork or wedge type tool, because seal or bushing damage could result. Use proper tool to separate all ball joints.
- With pry bar between suspension support and lower control arm, separate joint.

Serpentine Drive Belt, Replace -> Installation -> Removal

Removal
- Release the belt tensioner.
- Remove the belt from the power steering and alternator pulleys.
- Twist the belt for clearance from the tensioner and the front cover. Also twist the belt in order to clear the power steering pulley and engine mount bracket.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the right side splash shield. Turn the wheel to the extreme right.
- Remove the belt from the crankshaft and air conditioning compressor pulleys.
- Twist the belt for clearance between the idler pulley and the engine mount bracket.
- Remove the drive belt.
