- Raise vehicle off ground and support it with safety stands in proper locations.
- Remove bolts securing exhaust front pipe, center pipe, heat insulator, and center floor crossmember brace.
- Make a reference mark across driveline and differential companion flange.
- Remove bolts, washer, and nuts from companion flange.

- Raise and support vehicle and support it with safety stands in proper locations.
- Remove wheel nuts and rear wheels.
- Remove center exhaust pipe.
- Remove cotter pin and lock cap.
- Remove bolts securing rear suspension member brace.
- Place reference mark on driveshaft and side gear. Do not punch mark reference mark, use paint.
- Remove six driveshaft side gear bolts and washers while depressing brake pedal. Coat bolt threads with engine oil.
