- Recover refrigerant as outlined under .
- Remove left and righthand air intake covers, windshield wiper system and water collector as previously outlined under "Heater Core, Replace."
- Disconnect nut and expansion valve pipes, Fig. . Plug openings.
- Remove mounting bolts and expansion valve. Plug openings.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Install new O-rings lubricated with suitable compressor oil.
- Torque expansion valve mounting bolts to 53-88 inch lbs.

- Remove heater core as previously outlined.
- Disassemble valve block.
- Disconnect vacuum actuator lines.
- Remove clips and disconnect blower box from air distributor box.
- Remove mounting screw and gasket, Fig. .
- Remove distributor box upper section.
- Remove evaporator.
- Remove mounting bolts and expansion valve.
- Reverse procedure to install. Torque expansion valve mounting bolts to 71 inch lbs.
