DRIVELINE, U-JOINT & CV AXLES REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES FOR 2001 Cadillac Deville AUTOMOBILES

CV AXLE SHAFT, Replace
Vehicle: 2001 Cadillac Deville DTS 4.6 V8 GAS
- Raise vehicle and suitably support.
- Remove wheel and tire.
- Loosen or remove stabilizer shaft link assembly bolt as needed.
- Remove ball joint cotter pin and nut. Do not attempt to free ball stud by using a pickle fork or wedge type tool, because seal or bushing damage could result. Use the proper tool to separate all ball joints.
- With the pry bar between suspension support and lower control arm, separate joint.
- Remove hub nut. Insert a drift or screwdriver into caliper and rotor to prevent rotor from turning.
- Disconnect axle from hub using a suitable tool. The hub may ...
