Brake Lines & Linings
Remove one of the front wheels and inspect the brake disc, caliper and linings. The wheel bearings should be inspected at this time and repacked if necessary.
Do not get any oil or grease on the linings. It is recommended that both front wheel sets be replaced whenever a respective pad is worn or damaged. Inspect and, if necessary, replace rear brake linings also.
If the caliper is cracked or fluid leakage through the casting is evident, it must be replaced as a unit.

Brake System Pressure Relief
The normal working pressure of the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is 1600-2100 psi. System pressure must be released prior to servicing any system component. Failure to reduce system pressure will result in personal injury. Release ABS system pressure as follows:
- Turn ignition switch to Off position.
- Apply brakes 45-50 times (until pedal is firm) to reduce system pressure.

- Ensure brake fluid reservoir is full.
- Bleed anti-lock brake system in the following sequence:
- Master cylinder.
- HCU valve body, opening one line at a time.
- Right rear wheel.
- Left rear wheel.
- Right front wheel.
- Left front wheel.
- Attach bleeder hose to bleeder fitting, then immerse hose in a suitable glass container.
- Loosen bleeder screw 1/2 turn, then depress and hold brake pedal until pedal reaches floor.
- Tighten bleeder fitting only after pedal has bottomed at floor, then release pedal.

The cylinder body containing the primary and secondary pistons is made of aluminum. The removable fluid reservoir is made of nylon reinforced with glass fiber. The reservoir is the only serviceable component.
The fluid compartments of the nylon reservoir are interconnected to permit fluid level equalization. The equalization feature does not affect circuit separation in the event of a front or rear brake malfunction. The reservoir compartments will retain enough fluid to operate the functioning hydraulic circuit.
