Using Control Panel Display
The control panel display may be entered at any time. Normal system operation will cease during activation of the diagnostic mode. The diagnostic mode should be exited before the vehicle is turned off.
The temperature control must be set between 60-80°F during system testing or false Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) will be displayed.

High Pitched Whistle From Plenum

On some of these models there may be a high pitched whistler noise from the air conditioning plenum while driven at more than 55 mph with air conditioning in Off or Max A/C settings.
This condition may be caused by air flow over the air inlet duct drain flap door.

Disconnect negative battery cable for a minimum of five minutes. After clearing memory, it is required to drive vehicle a minimum of 10 miles to allow PCM time to relearn operating strategy.

- Prior to removing old PCM, connect a suitably programmed scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Follow scan tool manufacturers' instructions to download data from old PCM.

- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove righthand front wheel and lower splash shield.
- Lower vehicle.
- Disconnect coolant expansion tank hoses.
- Loosen water pump pulley mounting bolts and remove accessory drive belt.
- Remove mounting bolts and water pump pulley.
- Remove mounting bolts and water pump bolts by turning it 180º
