Do not, under any circumstance, clamp the shaft in the jaws of a vise or similar holding fixture. Denting or localizing fracture can result, causing shaft failure during vehicle operation. Use only tool no. 204-354 anytime tire pressures are measured to be sure that accurate values are obtained. Place air chuck straight on the valve stem to inflate tire. Do not cock air chuck during inflation cycle. Doing so can damage valve stem and cause air leaks. Ford recommends using a round head air chuck on tire pressure sensors; it is not recommended to use air chucks with long shanks. Doing so can cause tire pressure sensor valve stem damage and loss of tire pressure.
