Replacement
- Remove brake hose from caliper assembly, by removing union bolt and gaskets.
- Remove caliper bolts from torque plate, then the caliper.
- Remove brake pads and hardware as outlined in "Brake Pad Service."
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Use new gaskets on union bolt and tighten union bolt to specifications.
- Tighten caliper bolts to specifications.
- Fill reservoir, then bleed brakes and check for leaks.

Removal
- Raise and support vehicle, then remove left front wheel.
- Remove master cylinder as outlined in "Component Replacement" under "Hydraulic Brake Systems."
- Disconnect vacuum hose from brake booster.
- Disconnect left front brake line from flexible hose of front caliper.
- Separate grommet from body through brake line, then disconnect brake line from clamp.

- Remove front wheels and temporarily secure discs with lug nuts.
- Inspect brake pad thickness through caliper inspection hole.
- Replace brake pads if thickness is less than .039 inch.
- Remove bolt securing caliper flexible hose to front shock absorber.
- Remove bottom side installation bolt, then lift up caliper and suspend securely.
- Do not disconnect flexible hose from caliper.
