DRIVELINE, U-JOINT & CV AXLES REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES FOR 2005 Cadillac Deville AUTOMOBILES
Includes CV axle, universal joint, and driveline replacement, for domestic and imported 2005 Cadillac Deville cars and light trucks from 1990+.
CV AXLE SHAFT, Replace
Vehicle: 2005 Cadillac Deville 4.6 V8 GAS
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove tire and wheel assembly.
- On models with road sensing suspension, disconnect level sensor link from ball stud on lower control arm.
- On all models, disconnect outer tie rod end from steering knuckle. Do not loosen tie rod end jam nut.
- Insert a drift or punch into brake rotor and against caliper in order to prevent wheel hub and bearing from turning.
- Remove and discard wheel drive shaft spindle nut.
- Remove stabilizer shaft link.
- Disconnect electrical connector from wheel speed sensor and reposition wiring harness away from ball joint.Be sure that w...
