BRAKE SERVICE PROCEDURES FOR 2005 GMC Yukon XL 1500 AUTOMOBILES
Power Brake Units -> Delco Brake Booster -> Description -> Operation -> Single Diaphragm Type -> Tandem (Dual) Diaphragm Type
Vehicle: 2005 GMC Yukon XL 1500 SLT 5.3 V8 FLEX
In order to properly service power brake systems, a thorough understanding of the various power assist systems is required. These systems provide a mechanical assist, acting to increase the force applied to the master cylinder piston by the driver while decreasing the effort required to obtain acceptable stopping performance. Two basic types of power assist mechanisms are used: vacuum assist diaphragm assemblies which use engine vacuum and in some cases vacuum from an external vacuum pump, and hydraulic assist assemblies which use hydraulic pressure developed by an external pump (us...

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM PROCEDURES FOR 2005 GMC Yukon XL 1500 AUTOMOBILES
Description
Vehicle: 2005 GMC Yukon XL 1500 SLT 5.3 V8 GAS
The TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor System) notifies the driver when a significant loss of tire pressure occurs in any of the 4 tires.
When the vehicle is stationary, the sensor is inactive. When the vehicle is operated and as the vehicle speed increases, centrifugal force activates the sensors internal accelerometer causing the sensors to go into rolling mode. In the rolling mode, the sensors read tire pressure once every 30 second and transmit the reading once every 60 seconds. On 2004-05 models and 2006 models with convince package, the PDM (Passenger Door Module), receives and transl...
