- Raise and support vehicle. A mirror is needed to see bolt, which is located next to engine at base of head and at top of transmission bell house.
- Remove lower bolt from heater pipe assembly at thermostat assembly.
- Lower vehicle.
- Remove cover assembly to engine intake manifold.
- Remove battery tray.
- Remove lower bolt securing battery tray to panel assembly on front air inlet housing.
- Remove nuts securing panel assembly to front of dash.

- Drain engine coolant into suitable container.
- Remove condenser seal, radiator attaching bolts, then the support brackets.
- Disconnect surge tank hose, then remove fan shroud attaching bolts.
- Disconnect upper radiator hose to radiator using tool No. J 38185, or equivalent.
- Remove coolant bypass valve, placing aside, then release solenoid from fan shroud.
