Vehicle: 2006 Lexus LS430 4.3 V8 GAS

Discharge fuel system pressure.
Position vehicle on lift and ensure transaxle is in neutral position.
Disconnect battery ground cable. After removing battery ground cable wait 90 seconds to prevent air bag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
Drain engine coolant from radiator. Drain coolant into clean suitable container and plug end of hose. Never open radiator cap when engine is hot. Coolant under pressure when hot can scald skin and get into eyes. Wait for engine to cool before opening radiator cap.
Remove nuts securing v-bank cover.

STARTER & ALTERNATOR REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES FOR 2006 Lexus LS430 AUTOMOBILES

Alternator, Replace
Vehicle: 2006 Lexus LS430 4.3 V8 GAS

Disconnect battery ground cable. After removing battery ground cable wait 90 seconds to prevent air bag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
Raise vehicle on suitable lift.
Remove clips securing cool air intake duct seal.
Remove bolt from air inlet and remove air inlet.
Remove air cleaner assembly by loosing hose clamps then remove intake air connection pipe.
Remove nuts securing v-bank cover.
Remove bolts securing engine under cover.
Rotate or lift belt tensioner arm counterclockwise using a suitable tool to relieve tension from drive belt.
Remove drive belt.
