- Remove battery tray.
- Remove cowl panel retaining bolts.

- Reposition heater hose inlet clamp at thermostat assembly using hose clamp pliers J 38185 or equivalent.
- Remove heater inlet hose from thermostat housing.
- Reposition heater core inlet hose clamp at heater core using hose clamp pliers J 38185 or equivalent.
- Remove hose from vehicle.
- Reverse procedure to install.

- Drain coolant into suitable container.
- On models equipped with standard cooling, proceed as follows:
- Disconnect Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) tube from air cleaner duct.
- Disconnect air duct clamps at throttle body and Mass Air Flow/Intake Air Temperature (MAF/IAT) sensor.
- Remove air cleaner duct.
- Disconnect and position surge tank inlet hose aside.
- Remove cooling fan shroud upper radiator upper and lefthand lower mounting bolts.
- Disconnect cooling fan electrical connectors, then raise and support vehicle.
- Remove 16 retainers and front air deflector.

- Drain engine coolant into suitable container.
- Remove condenser seal, radiator attaching bolts, then the support brackets.
- Disconnect surge tank hose, then remove fan shroud attaching bolts.
- Disconnect upper radiator hose to radiator using tool No. J 38185, or equivalent.
- Remove coolant bypass valve, placing aside, then release solenoid from fan shroud.
- Remove air cleaner assembly.
