- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Loosen band clamp and remove air filter element, tray and inlet snorkel.
- On vehicles equipped with air conditioning,rotate accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise remove belt aside.
- On all models, rotate accessory drive belt tensioner counter clockwise remove belt aside.

This procedure also applies to primary alternator of the dual alternator system.
- Disconnect ground cables for dual batteries. Ground path is through the frame.
- Remove bolt and position MAP sensor aside.
- Remove ground strap bolt at bulkhead and position ground strap aside.
- Remove bolts and position power steering fluid reservoir bracket aside.
- Remove bolts and position cowl wiring harness aside.
- Remove bracket screws from charge air cooler tube bracket.
- Remove stud nuts and CAC tube bracket.
- Loosen clamps and remove CAC tube.
