- Raise vehicle off ground and support it with safety stands in proper locations.
- Remove bolts and nuts securing front exhaust pipe assembly.
- Remove front floor heat insulator.
- Remove four nuts, grommets and front floor heat insulator.
- Remove driveline center bearing by loosening adjusting nut using suitable tool.
- Make a reference mark across driveline and transmission companion flange.
- Remove bolts, washer, and nuts from companion flange.Driveline and flexible coupling should not be separated.

- Remove top ventilator louver cowl.
- Disconnect cable from negative battery terminal. Wait 90 seconds after disconnecting cable from battery ground cable to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation. After engine is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires about 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine off wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting cable from battery ground cable.
