DRIVESHAFT, Replace
Vehicle: 2010 Audi S5 4.2 V8 GAS

Raise and support vehicle.
Remove rear section of exhaust system at clamp(s).
Pry off rear attachments of drive shaft heat shield.
Remove securing bolts for center bearing When removing securing bolts, support drive shaft by hand. Do not bend drive shaft.
Remove heat shield. Continue supporting drive shaft.
Screw in securing bolts for center bearing again hand-tight.
Remove drive shaft heat shield from transmission.
Check for a factory marking (colored dot) on drive shaft and on drive shaft flange on final drive at rear. If no colored dot is present, mark position of drive shaft fl...

CV AXLE SHAFT, Replace -> Front -> Rear
Vehicle: 2010 Audi S5 4.2 V8 GAS

Front

Remove wheel trim. Pull trim cap off light-alloy wheels, using puller in vehicle tool kit.
Loosen bolt for drive axle outer joint by a maximum of 90°. Vehicle must be standing on its wheels to avoid risk of accident.
Raise and support vehicle.
Remove wheel and tire assembly.
Screw all 5 wheel bolts hand-tight.
Remove hex bolt for drive axle outer joint.
Unbolt drive axle from flange shaft on transmission. If not enough space is available for removing drive axle, proceed as follows:
