DRIVESHAFT, Replace -> Front -> Rear
Vehicle: 2010 Jeep Commander Limited 5.7 V8 GAS
Front
- With vehicle in neutral, position vehicle on hoist.
- Mark a line across axle pinion flange, propeller shaft, flange yoke and transfer case for installation reference.
- Support transmission and transmission crossmember.
- Remove propeller shaft from transfer case flange.
- Remove propeller shaft from axle pinion flange.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Align reference marks.
- Torque axle flange bolts to 80 ft. lbs.
- Torque transfer case flange bolts to 24 ft. lbs.

- Disconnect negative battery cable at battery.
- Drain cooling system into a suitable container.
- Remove front grille.
- Remove two radiator mounting bolts.
- Disconnect both transmission cooler lines from radiator.
- Disconnect electrical connector for fan control solenoid.
- Disconnect power steering cooler line from cooler and filter.
- Disconnect radiator upper and lower hoses.
