Self-Diagnostic System

The Automatic Temperature Control System is equipped with a self-diagnostic feature to provide for more direct diagnosis of system malfunctions. If a problem in the A/C system is suspected, the self-diagnostic system can be activated by turning the ignition switch On and turning FAN switch to AUTO position. Wait at least one minute on each TEMP display, from 60-90°F. Depress AUTO and Off buttons simultaneously....

  • Remove bleeder cap from the maintenance bleeder on modulator.
  • Connect rubber hose to the maintenance bleeder, place other end in suitable container.
  • Loosen maintenance bleeder 1/8 to 1/4 turn to collect fluid in container, Fig. . Do not loosen maintenance bleeder more than 1/4 turn, brake fluid is under high pressure.
  • Tighten maintenance bleeder.
  • Start engine and allow to idle for one minute, then check fluid level
  • Repeat steps three through five several times in order to drain remaining fluid from modulator.
  • Tighten maintenance...
