- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove complete exhaust system.
- Remove heat shield.
- Unscrew holders for exhaust suspension.
- Remove clamp.
- On models with joint disk, unscrew joint disk on transmission.
- On models with universal joint, unscrew universal joint on transmission.
- Release threaded bushing with special tool 26 1 040 or equivalent by a few turns. Caution: When removing propeller shaft, mark universal joint to drive flange of rear axle. This will eliminate complaints of droning.
