- Raise and support vehicle and remove front wheels.
- Disconnect flexible brake hose at caliper and cap hose openings.
- Remove upper and lower caliper mounting bolts, then remove caliper from disc.
- Reverse procedure to install, tighten caliper attaching bolts to specification.
AMIGO, PICKUP, RODEO & TROOPER II
Removal
- Perform steps one through three as outlined under "Brake Pad, Replace" procedure.
- Disconnect brake hose from caliper and cap openings in hose and caliper.
- Remove caliper from vehicle.

- Raise and support vehicle and remove front wheels.
- Remove upper and lower caliper mounting bolts, then remove caliper from disc, leaving brake hose attached. Do not let caliper hang by brake hose.
- Remove brake pads, with shims, from support bracket.
- Apply thin coat of suitable grease to rear face of new brake pad and install shim.
- Push in caliper piston and install pads.
- Install caliper assembly, then tighten retaining bolts to specification.

Removal
- On models equipped with Turbocharger, remove air duct and air cleaner assembly, then remove intercooler assembly.
- On all models, remove master cylinder.
- Disconnect vacuum hose, then yoke clevis from brake pedal.
- Remove vacuum booster retaining nuts, then vacuum booster from vehicle.
Inspection
- Inspect the check valve, which is installed inside the vacuum hose. Air passage should be able to flow in one direction only.
- Air should pass freely from the vacuum booster to the engine.
- Air should not pass from the engine to the vacuum booster. If it does...
