- Disconnect 6-P inspection connector at crossmember under front passenger seat, then connect inspection connector to ALB checker.
- Place vehicle on level surface, then block wheels. On models equipped with manual transaxle, place in Neutral. On models equipped with automatic transaxle, place in Park.
- Using suitable brake fluid, fill modulator reservoir to MAX level.
- Using tool No. 07HAA-SG00100 or equivalent, bleed high pressure fluid from maintenance bleeder, Fig. and . Do not reuse brake fluid.

- Drain high pressure brake fluid from power unit, Figs. and , then remove three flange bolts and separate three accumulator from accumulator bracket. Replace switch, Figs. through .
- Accumulator contains high pressure nitrogen gas, do not puncture, expose to flame or attempt to disassemble accumulator. Carelessness may cause unit to explode, causing personal injury, Fig. .
- Place accumulator in suitable vise, ensuring relief plug points straight up. Slowly turn plug 31/2 times, then wait three minutes for pressure to escape.

- With engine stopped, depress brake pedal several times, the depress pedal hard and hold for 15 seconds. If pedal sinks, master cylinder, brake line or brake caliper is faulty.
- With brake pedal depressed, start engine. If pedal sinks slightly, vacuum booster is operating. If pedal height does not vary, booster or check valve is faulty.
