DRIVELINE, U-JOINT & CV AXLES REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES FOR 1991 Land Rover Range Rover AUTOMOBILES

DRIVESHAFT U-JOINT, Replace -> Assemble -> Disassemble

Disassemble
Caution: To ensure correct assembly and reduce possibility of imbalance, (before removing propeller shaft joint). Mark position of spider pin lubricator relative to journal yoke ears.
- Remove driveshaft from vehicle.
- Thoroughly examine universal joint for signs of damage or wear. Replace if necessary.
- Clean universal joint bearing cups and circlips.
- Remove circlips, and grease nipple.
- Tap yokes to eject bearing cups.
- Remove bearing cups and spider.
- Repeat instructions one to five for opposite end of propeller shaft if necessary.
- Clean yokes and bearing cup location...
