- If applicable, ensure wheel bearings are properly adjusted.
- Using suitable spacers install lug nuts or bolts, then torque to specifications.
- Mount a dial indicator to a convenient part of the vehicle (steering knuckle, tie rod, disc brake caliper housing).

The single piston, floating caliper disc brake assembly, Fig. , consists of the rotor, caliper, pads and the driving hub. The caliper is mounted through bushings and sleeves by two through bolts threaded into an adapter. Two machined abutments on the adapter position and align the caliper fore and aft. - Each backing plate has two adjusting hole covers; remove the rear cover and turn the adjusting screw upward with a screwdriver or other suitable tool to expand the shoes until a slight drag is felt when the drum is rotated.

When disassembling the master cylinder, note the position of all parts as they are removed for proper installation.

- Reverse Procedure to install, bleed brakes as outlined under "Brake System Bleed."

- Place a wood block between caliper piston and caliper fingers. With brake hose attached to caliper, carefully depress brake pedal to push piston out of caliper bore. Prop brake pedal to any position below first inch of brake pedal travel to prevent brake fluid loss.
