- With engine cold, remove cooling pressure caps from engine and coolant reservoir tank.
- Loosen system bleed tap from lefthand side of radiator top rail.
- Disconnect lower radiator hose and partially drain coolant.
- Disconnect top radiator hose from thermostat housing.
- Remove three thermostat housing bolts. Loosen air cleaner mounting bracket upper nut and remove bracket from thermostat housing.
- Remove thermostat and gasket.

Since it boils (vaporizes) at -21.7°F, it will usually be in a vapor state when being handled in a repair shop.
