The hub bearing may be damaged if it is subjected to vehicle weight, such as when moving vehicle with driveshaft removed. Therefore, if it is absolutely necessary to place vehicle weight on hub bearing, first support it with hub support tool No. 09608-16041, or equivalent.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove engine undercovers, then drain transaxle oil.
- Remove cotter pin from axle shaft, then locknut cap.
- With emergency brake applied, remove axle shaft nut.
