  • Obtain the vehicle owners radio theft protection code prior to disconnecting the battery ground cable, if equipped.
  • Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  • Remove the fuel fill cap to release fuel tank pressure.
  • Place a shop towel over the union bolt at top of fuel filter. Slowly loosen the union bolt allowing fuel pressure to bleed down.
  • Whenever the union bolt is loosened to relieve fuel system pressure, always replace the bolt gasket.
