- Remove master cylinder from booster.
- Remove lower left trim panel.
- Disconnect bayonet pin and clip from booster pushrod, below instrument panel. Fig. .
- Detach booster from pedal base. Remove booster from engine compartment.
- Reverse procedure to install.

Parking Brake
- Ensure parking brake lever is fully released and cables operate freely, then raise and support rear of vehicle.
- On models with wheel bolts, remove 1 wheel bolt from each wheel. On models with studs, remove rear wheels and secure brake discs using lug nuts and spacers.
- On all models, rotate wheel until bolt hole is aligned with parking brake star adjuster. Adjuster is located approximately 30° behind the vertical axis of the wheel on 318 and 325 models, Fig. , or 45° below horizontal axis of wheel toward rear of vehicle on all models except 318 and 325, Fig. ...

- Remove brake fluid from master cylinder with a syringe.
- Remove plug and clutch hose if equipped.
- Remove fluid reservoir.
- Remove brake lines, then mounting bolts.
- Remove master cylinder.
- Reverse procedure to install and bleed brake system.

- Connect suitable pressure bleeder to brake fluid reservoir. Maximum charging pressure is 43.5 psi.
- Attach bleeder hose and container to right rear wheel. Bleed until no bubbles appear.
- Repeat step 2 for left rear, right front and left front wheels.
- Support rear suspension at wheel carriers and lower car so rear suspension compresses to its normal loaded position (to prevent damage to output shaft joints). Wheels must be able to turn freely.

The H-31 hydraulic system, Fig. , incorporates a power flow regulator which diverts a small flow of fluid from the power steering operating circuit for the power assisted brake system.
