This fan, Fig. , is driven by an electric motor which is attached to the radiator support. The cooling fan is controlled by the ECM, based on inputs from the coolant temperature sensor, A/C fan control switch and vehicle speed. The ECM controls the fan through a ground circuit, which energizes the fan control relay, supplying voltage to the fan motor.
The ECM grounds the circuit when coolant temperature is over 223°F or when A/C is On.
