Vehicle: 1993 Dodge Dakota 5.2 V8 GAS
2WD Models
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove lower mounting nut and lock washer, then remover upper mounting bolt.
- Move starter forward until gears clears bellhousing, then tilt starter nose down past exhaust pipe.
- Remove battery and solenoid wires, then remove starter from vehicle.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Torque starter mounting bolts to 50 ft. lbs.
- Torque starter mounting nuts to 20 ft. lbs.
- Torque battery lead terminal nut to 90 in. lbs.
- Torque solenoid lead terminal nut to 22 in. lbs.
