- Connect suitable R-134a refrigerant recovery/recycling/charging system to vehicle following manufacturer's instructions.
- Open high pressure valve to charge system to about 98 kPa, then close supply valve.
- Check system for leaks using suitable R-134a refrigerant leak detector with accuracy of .5 oz. per year or better.

- Remove master cylinder as outlined under "Master Cylinder, Replace."
- Position pushrod adjustment gauge tool No. 07JAG-SD40100, or equivalent onto master cylinder. Using gauge tool adjusting nut, push in center shaft of tool until top of it contacts end of secondary piston, Fig. .
- Without disturbing center shaft's position, install pushrod adjustment gauge tool upside down on booster, Fig. .
- Hold tool in place using master cylinder nuts, torque master cylinder nuts to 11 ft. lbs.

Driveshaft
- Raise and support front of vehicle.
- Remove front wheel and tire assemblies, then drain transaxle fluid into a suitable container. If removing left driveshaft only, it is not necessary to drain transaxle.
- Raise spindle nut lock tab and remove nut.
- Remove damper fork bolt and pinch bolt, then damper fork.
- Remove steering knuckle to lower control arm castellated nut cotter pin and nut.
- Separate lower control arm from steering knuckle using a suitable puller.
- Pull steering knuckle outward and tap driveshaft outboard joint from steering knuckle.
