- Disconnect battery ground cable and evacuate A/C system.
- Disconnect wiring harness to compressor at connector on frame rail.
- Disconnect refrigerant lines at compressor, then plug lines and open ports.
- Remove 2 bolts securing adjusting bracket to top of compressor.
- Raise and support front of vehicle, then remove splash pan.
- Remove bolts (1-2) securing muffler assembly to compressor, loosen pivot bolt (3), Fig. , then remove drive belt.
- Remove pivot bolts and lower compressor from vehicle.

Import Compressor Service -> Keihin Compressor -> SHAFT SEAL, REPLACE -> INSTALLATION -> REMOVAL

Ensure suction and discharge joints are securely capped.
- Remove pressure plate, then the 32 mm snap ring, Fig. .
- Remove woodruff key from keyway, then the shims from shaft.
- Remove seal seat from pulley assembly as shown, Fig. .
- Insert shaft seal remover tool or equivalent, Fig. , then rotate tool to ensure cutout is engaged with metal pawl.
