- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove air cleaner assembly, then air cleaner resonator.
- Recover refrigerant from air conditioning system.
- Disconnect electrical connectors from air conditioning compressor, then pressure lines. Discard compressor to hose assembly sealing washers.
- Remove serpentine drive belt from engine.
- Remove front and rear compressor attaching bolts, then compressor.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Torque front compressor attaching bolts to 37 ft. lbs.

- Connect suitable pressure gauge or reclaim/recycle equipment to discharge side of compressor, then attach clamp on thermocouple part No. P.S.E. 66-324-0014 or 80PK-1A or equivalent to liquid line as shown in Fig. . It must be attached as close to condenser as possible to read liquid line temperature.
