When working on or around brake assemblies, care must be taken to prevent breathing asbestos dust, as many manufacturers incorporate asbestos fibers in the production of brake linings. During routine service operations, the amount of asbestos dust from brake lining wear is at a low level due to a chemical breakdown during use. A few precautions will minimize exposure.
Do not sand or grind brake linings unless suitable local exhaust ventilation equipment is used to prevent excessive asbestos exposure.
- Wear a suitable respirator approved for asbestos dust use during all repair procedure...

Power Brake Units -> Adjustments -> Colt, Colt Vista, Laser, Summit, Summit Wagon & Talon -> PUSHROD ADJUSTMENT
Vehicle: 1994 Chrysler LHS 3.5 V6 GAS
PUSHROD ADJUSTMENT
In some cases adjustment of the brake booster pushrod is necessary to ensure proper operation of the power brake system. A pushrod that is too long will cause the master cylinder piston to close off the compensating port, preventing hydraulic pressure from being released and resulting in brake drag. A pushrod that is too short will cause excessive brake pedal travel and cause groaning noises to come from the booster when the...

Disc Brakes -> Type 6-Kelsey-Hayes Dual Pin Floating Caliper Disc Brake, Front -> Brake System Bleed -> MANUAL BLEEDING -> PRESSURE BLEEDING
Vehicle: 1994 Chrysler LHS 3.5 V6 GAS
Bleeding the hydraulic brake system is necessary if air has entered the system. Symptoms can be noted by loss of brake operation, and/or a low or spongy brake pedal.
The hydraulic fluid is bled or flushed from the system through bleeder valves located on the calipers, wheel cylinders, and some master cylinders. When bleeding the hydraulic brake system, use only specified brake fluid. Never reuse old brake fluid removed from the system.
PRESSURE BLEEDING
Pressure bleeding is recommended for all hydraulic brake systems. It is the fastest method because the master cylinder is autom...

Vehicle: 1994 Chrysler LHS 3.5 V6 GAS
In order to properly service and repair available brake systems, a thorough understanding of the power assist systems is necessary. The vacuum assist diaphragm assembly multiplies the force exerted on the master cylinder piston in order to increase the hydraulic pressure delivered to the wheel cylinders or calipers while decreasing the effort necessary to obtain acceptable stopping performance.
Vacuum assist units get their energy by opposing engine vacuum to atmospheric pressure. A piston, cylinder and flexible diaphragm utilize this energy to provide brake assistance. The diaph...
